In this video ------------------------------ Fusible quilt applique is an easy way to dress up any project. Ready to give it a try? The perfect time to do this is after piecing your project, but before quilting it. Decide what letter or shape you want to use. You can use a mascot or letter, it's up to you. The more basic the shape, the easier it will be to work with. Check the manufactures instructions, but most have you iron the fusible onto the back of the fabric. Trace, or freehand draw, the shape onto the front of the fabric using a thin line. Carefully cut out the shape just inside or directly onto the line. Remove the fusible backing off of the shape and place it on the project. Once you have found the perfect spot, adhere it to the project by using a hot iron. Again, check the packaging for specific instructions. Now that it's attached, you may want to sew the edges down, just to give it a little more stability. Using a zigzag stitch, work your way around the shape. I like to use a fun contrasting thread Once you have the applique secured, just finish the project as normal There you have it! An easy way to personalize your favorite project.
