In this video -------------------- Want professional results on your next log cabin quilt project? It's easier than you think! I am going to show you how easy it is to make a log cabin quilt block like a professional, even if you're not. First, pick contrasting fabrics. You can use several different prints, but make sure that they generally have two values; light and dark. Doing so will ensure that your log cabin block shines. Next, cut the pieces carefully. Since this block starts from the center and works outward, one cutting error can affect the rest of the block. There are so many different ways to arrange your log cabin blocks, try experimenting with different layouts to find your favorite. Once you find the layout that you love, sew the blocks in rows and sew the rows together Keep your iron close. Pressing each seam as you piece the block may take a little longer but it makes sewing the pieces easier. Using a starch, makes them lay nice and flat, and it smells so good too! After you make 4 blocks arrange them so the dark corners meet in the center to make a larger block. Then sew the large blocks together! Now you know just how easy it is to piece a log cabin quilt like a professional Now you know just how easy it is to piece a log cabin block like a professional.
