Why Bao Loc is better than Dalat. Vietnam Travel. Bao Loc is a Vietnamese town in the Central Highlands. It is known primarily as a layover spot for tourists on their way to Dalat from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). These second tier cities in Vietnam can however be more enjoyable than their more famous and celebrated counterparts. Despite their lack of commercial and trademark headline tourist attractions they can offer a more laidback glimpse into local Vietnamese life. This video is the first video in a series chronicling my solo journey by bike from Saigon in the south to Thanh Hoa in the north to meet Linh and the Thanh Hoa Crew in their home town. On this particular day I set out from Ho Chi Minh City at dusk and after an evening freezing off my nuts I finally made it to Bao Loc long after nightfall. It was a long wet cold testing ride but I was rewarded with a nice warm shower so my testicles survived in one piece. Well in two pieces I guess. Anyway the next video in this series will feature Dalat. The city of waterfalls and gorges and strawberry fields and artichoke herbal teas. Stay tuned.
