Skylum Luminar 2018 First Look (Version 1.3.1.2291)

The crew at Skylum sent me a license to their Skylum Luminar 2018 photo editing software so that I could check it out. It's a relatively low cost option that's pay-once-per-version rather than the monthly service fee that Adobe transitioned to. I'm not a fan of "software as a service" (even though my main work is currently computer software development), so I've never used Adobe Creative Cloud and I am always open to alternatives. In this case Luminar is still developing their "DAM" feature (Digital Asset Management) so it doesn't have an organizer like Lightroom and Acdsee Photo Studio, but that will be changing late this year. Once that happens I'll be hopefully giving this program a more detailed look. As it is now it feels pretty snappy on my computer for most tasks. Their workspace customization is probably the nicest feature I've seen so far while trying the program out.
